Finding Shakti
An introspective approach to finding the feminine side of Asana.
Friday September 29th (Full Harvest Moon)
6:30-8:30pm
Cleveland, Ohio
There is a dormant serpent, at the base of your spine. She is known as Shakti, she is the primordial feminine, counterpart to Shiva, primodial masculine. Yoga asana, and some other
practices, can awaken Shakti, and as she uncoils, she reveals herself as the essence of energetic potential. She is the creatrix of the universe and contains the womb for all of
creation to come to life.
Yoga asanas (shapes) stimulate energetic pathways in the body. This provides many tangible health benefits, and also unlocks the pathways for Prana (life energy) to flow unrestricted. As prana awakens within us, so does Shakti. If we are paying attention, we can learn to unite Shiva with Shakti and begin to reveal our innate potential in life.
In this workshop…
Discuss Prana and Nadis (energy channels) and how they relate to Asana Practice
Experience the difference between a Rajastic, Tamasic, and Sattvic practice
Learn to invite feminine energy into asana practice by tuning into the non-physical body, and enriching your practice with qualities of surrender and grace.
Explore how Shiva and Shakti (masculine & feminine) show up for you, and how that can be used to enhance asana practice.
